Youssef Soliman
Description
Youssef Soliman is one of the most exciting young talents on the world tour, breaking inside the top 20 for the first time in September 2021. His world tour debut came in 2013 but had to wait two years to reach a final when he lost to Hong Kong’s Yip Tsz-fung at the Malaysian Tour I. In 2016, Soliman secured three successive wins, first recorded victory at the Scotland Open to capture his maiden title, followed by victories at the Ipswich Open and Jersey Classic. The Egyptian made it through to the third round of a Platinum level tournament for the first time in his career at the 2020 J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions and repeated the feat at the Windy City Open a month later. His performances over the course of 2020 saw him make it into the top 30 before making his maiden Platinum quarterfinal at the Allam British Open in 2021, and that result saw him break into the top 20. Soliman then followed with a semi-final appearance at the Squash on Fire Open in Washington, before making it to the final of the Karachi Open in Pakistan. Those results saw him move to a career-high of No.15, and he continued his good form with a last 16 spot at the World Championships.
