Alex Lau Tsz-kwan
Description
Alex Lau is one of several Hong Kong players in the top 100, and he has taken a number of titles over his career. Lau made his debut on Tour in 2013 and did not have to wait much longer for his first victory, with that coming at the Amir Kabir Open in 2016, after beating Bernat Jaume in the final. Two more runner-up finishes came at the Linear Logistics Bankers Hall Club Pro Am and the Life Time Atlanta Open in 2019, before he claimed his fourth professional title at the Perrier Squash Challenger Cup, beating Wong Chi-him in the final. Lau returned to the tour in early 2021, after the tour’s enforced suspension due to Covid-19, and reached the final of both the Chairman Cup and Chairman Cup 2, before also making the semis of the Football Club PSA. He then made his debuts at the World Championships and CIB Egyptian Open, before returning to the Challenger Tour, where he made another three semi-final appearances before the end of the calendar year. In September, he took the men’s award for PSA Challenger Tour Player of the Month after winning both the Volkswagen Bega Open and City of Devonport Tasmanian Open.
