Wong Chi-him
Description
Wong has notched up several titles in the years. He made his debut in 2011 but had to wait four years before he finally tasted success as a professional. His first win came at the 2015 Contrex Challenge Cup, an event he would go on to defend his title at a year later. He also won on the Malaysian Squash Tour in 2015 and 2017 and after a two-year drought, Wong was able to get back into the winner’s circle at the Pacific Toyota Cairns Squash International in 2019, where he got the better of Evan Williams in the final. After appearing just twice in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Wong returned to win on his first outing of 2021, claiming Chairman Cup after beating Lau Tsz-kwan in a five-game final. He then reached the quarter-finals of his next three events at the Chairman Cup 2, Football Club PSA and the Nash Cup. A couple of second round exits followed before Wong then reached the semis of the Capra Baerum Open in Norway. He then went on to win his second tournament of the year, claiming the victory at the Hong Kong Football Club Christmas PSA. He reached the quarterfinals in three events this year, at the Properties Canadian Open, the Bega Open and the City of Devonport Tasmanian Open in Australia.
