(15.10.2013) The annual extravaganza will bring another world class sporting event to Hong Kong when 2013 is about to end.
One of the longest serving tournaments in the city, the 2013 Cathay Pacific Sun Hung Kai Financial Hong Kong Open will feature the world's top 30 players in both the men's and women's categories as they go through an exciting week-long event in early December.
At stake will be a lucrative winning purse of HK$1.6 million when the tournament takes place at Hong Kong Squash Centre in Admiralty for the opening stages (December 1- 6) before moving across the harbour to Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui (December 7-8) where the famous Victoria Harbour will again become a spectacular backdrop for the players as they compete for the top honour in a clear view glass court.
From the semi-finals onward, live action of these world class players can be viewed a few metres from the spectator's seats, offering the audience a close viewing experience to appreciate the true athleticism and speed of the game.
Presented by Hong Kong Squash, the tournament has been greatly received by players from all over the world and has also become highly popular among squash fans. Each year, a large overseas contingent accompanying the players also attend the event.
