(15.10.2013) Hong Kong Squash were delighted to announce the continued sponsorship from Cathay Pacific Airways and Sun Hung Kai Financial Group for the Hong Kong Open for the next five years at the Grand Press Conference Ceremony of Cathay Pacific Sun Hung Kai Financial Hong Kong Squash Open 2013 at Regal Hong Kong Hotel on 27 September.
“We are honoured to have two loyal sponsors who have supported squash for many years and will continue to do so for the next five years. It is a significant boost not just for Hong Kong Squash, but also for squash as a whole in the world,” commented David Mui, MH JP, Chairman of Hong Kong Squash. It is no exaggeration, particularly as some other places and some local sports are struggling to secure or renew sponsorship deals.
Cathay Pacific Airways, the long-standing sponsor for Hong Kong Open, has been the title sponsor for twenty-eight years. “We trust Hong Kong Squash, they have tremendous experience in organising world class event. And a close partnership has been established between us. We are happy and excited about our on-going relationship,” said Simon Large, General Manager Marketing, Loyalty Programmes & CRM, Cathay Pacific Airways Limited.
The other committed sponsor, Sun Hung Kai Financial Group, has also supported the event for four consecutive years. “We believe a world class sporting event like Hong Kong Open, which is one of the top five tournaments in the world, would raise the international status of Hong Kong. The clear view glass court on the harbour front further showcases the beauty of the city,” added William Leung Wing-Cheung, BBS JP, Executive Director, Chief Executive Officer of Sun Hung Kai Financial Limited.
At the same time, TVB will once again join with Hong Kong Squash to broadcast the annual biggest event “Cathay Pacific Sun Hung Kai Financial Hong Kong Squash Open 2013”which is scheduled on the coming December 1 - 8 at Hong Kong Squash Centre and Piazza, Hong Kong Cultural Centre. It is believed to attracting all the international squash players around the world, together with the local stars to participate in this promising event.
