TTI Milwaukee Hong Kong Squash Open 2023 will be held from late Nov to early Dec, with Semifinals and Finals take places in Xiqu Centre, West Kowloon Cultural District for the first time

Organized by Squash Association of Hong Kong, China, sole title-sponsored by TTI Milwaukee, the prestigious “TTI Milwaukee Hong Kong Squash Open 2023” confirmed to the stage from 27 November to 3 December at Hong Kong Squash Centre and Cultural Plaza of Xiqu Centre, West Kowloon District. The press conference was successfully held at the Hong Kong Football Club this afternoon.

 The tournament is listed as one of the Platinum events, which is the highest-ranked tournament level of the Professional Squash Association World Tour series. The “TTI Milwaukee Hong Kong Squash Open 2023” is proud of being an “M” Mark event that helps enhance the image of Hong Kong as Asia's sports event capital. The "M" Mark awarded by the Major Sports Events Committee, symbolizing intense, spectacular and signature event in the territory sports calendar.

The tournament offers a hefty winning purse of US$380,000 (HK$2.96 million) and it will be featuring 48 players in both Men’s and Women’s draw. The Men’s World No.1, Ali Farag of Egypt, 2017 & 2018 runners-up and World No.2, Diego Elias from Peru will be the top and second seed of the event, while the defending champion from Egypt, Mostafa Asal and the four-time winner, Mohamed ElShorbagy from England will be seeded as the No. 3 and No.4 seeds. Besides, our Asian Games Men’s Team Bronze medallist, World No. 47 Lau Tsz Kwan Alex will join the battlefield along with two wildcard holders, his Asian Games teammates Leung Chi Hin Henry and Tang Ming Hong.

And the Women’s top three seeds all from Eypgt, including World No.1 and last runner-up Nour El Sherbini, 2016 champion Nouran Gohar and defending champion, Hania El Hammamy. And the 2018 champion, Joelle King from New Zealand will once again join the event as the No.4 seed. The home challenge will be headed by the core members of the Asian Games Women’s Team Silver medallist, World No. 28 Ho Tze Lok Tomato, World No. 41 Tong Tsz Wing and World No. 45 Lee Ka Yi. They will join the tournament with two wild cards, Asian Games Women’s Singles Silver medallist Chan Sin Yuk Simmi and upcoming player Cheng Nga Ching Sara.

The Honorable Duncan Chiu, Chairman of Squash Association of Hong Kong, China attended the ceremony along with the honorable guests including Mr. Sam Wong, MH, Commissioner for Sport, Culture, Sports, and Tourism Bureau, Mr. Wilfred Ng Sau Kei, GBS, MH, JP, Chairman of Major Sports Events Committee, Mr. Stephan Horst Pudwill, Vice Chairman of Techtronic Industries Company Limited and other sponsors representatives to give their supports and anticipation for the tournament.

The opening stages and quarter-finals of the tournament will take place at the Hong Kong Squash Centre on Cotton Tree Drive in Admiralty, with a new glass court first set up at the Cultural Plaza, Xiqu Centre, West Kowloon for Semi-finals and Finals.
