(15.10.2015) Once again, one of the most popular squash tournaments in the world is just around the corner as the Cathay Pacific Sun Hung Kai Financial Hong Kong Squash Open is due to kick off in late November.
Presented by Hong Kong Squash for the 30th consecutive year, the annual tournament has gone from strength to strength over these years and become one of the most established sporting events in Hong Kong.
A world series under the Professional Squash Association, the US$245,000 tournament is going to attract a strong field of top class players from all over the world, providing a week-long squash feat for lovers of the sport in Hong Kong.
Each year, a large overseas contingent will also accompany the players to watch the tournament in Hong Kong, adding more international colours to the event. A new venue will be used for the qualifying rounds this year as fans can enjoy action of the world's growing talents at Hong Kong Football Club in Happy Valley from November 29 to 30.
The event will then move back to our familiar site on Cotton Tree Drive in Admiralty, with the opening stages to take place at Hong Kong Squash Centre. After watching four days of exciting squash, fans can move to the adjacent Hong Kong Park Sports Centre where an all-glass portable clear view squash will be set up for both the semi-finals and the all-important finals on December 5 and 6 respectively.
Live action of these best of the best world top players will be available for the audience from only a few metres out, bringing a close watching experience to appreciate the true athleticism and speed of the game.
Tickets for one of the biggest tournaments will be available from October 29 at the Hong Kong Squash Office, 23 Cotton Tree Drive, Hong Kong.
