(28.08.2014) Joey Chan Ho-ling, the world No.23, delighted the home crowd today after winning a great game against the 7th seed Egyptian Omneya Abdel Kawy in a straight 11-8, 13-11 and 11-7.
This is Joey's second time to get into the quarter finals of the Hong Kong Open after 2011. “Omneya is a very talented player. I am happy about my win and am really glad to get into the quarters again. The game pace was fast, so I had to take the control on court to keep her running. I had to be patient when making every attack and had to keep each rally as long as possible."
Joey will be facing the defending champion, Nicol Daivd at the women's quarter-finals of Cathay Pacific Sun Hung Kai Financial Hong Kong Squash Open 2014 tomorrow at 1:30pm at Hong Kong Squash Centre. "I look forward to playing Nicol again. I'll do my best and enjoy the terrific atmosphere of the centre court."
